With the University's posting for an assistant football coach, there is going to be at least one change for 2013. How about adding Sage Rosenfels as QB coach and recruiting coordinator?

Bill Bleil - Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line
Todd Sturdy - Offensive Coordinator
Courtney Messingham - Wide Receiver / Tight End Coach
Sage Rosenfels - Quarterbacks
Kenith Pope - Running Backs
Wally Burnham - Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Shane Burnham - Defensive Tackles
Curtis Bray - Defensive Line Coach
Troy Douglas - Secondary Coach

Todd Blythe would love to get back to Iowa State. Think he is at UNI now. Might need a little more coaching experience first.

Blythe's bag of tricks include one play fade to the corner, 3 times in a row if that's what it takes. We haven't had a receiver like that since him, he would either catch it or knock it down.

I like the idea of bringing a former player back. What is Austin Flynn up to these days? I would be cool with Sage too.

Flynn has also played both the positions we need help at WR and QB. I am officially creating the bring Austin Flynn back to Iowa State. Who wants to co-sign an email to JP and CPR with me?

Sage did have a long meeting with JP during football season. Maybe he planted that seed just like CPR did

I just have a feeling Flynn will get a nice look. Has OC experience in spread offense and has worked with multiple positions.

All these guys you all "would like" have to actually show interest in the positions to be considered

Hasn't Flynn said he wanted to be at ISU to coach before? Also Rosenfels has had a meeting with JP before, so I am sure he will be interested.

Coach seems very loyal to his staff. I don't see changes unless changes are necessitated by coaches moving to other colleges or professions. One departure doesn't make a trend.

Courtney Messingham has wasted or offense, need a change or we stay bottom of Big 12

Anyone think JP has the stones to "suggest" off-season changes? He DID off the most popular football coach (since CPR anyway).

Idea for a new post...

Former ISU players in the coaching profession.

Atif Austin - UNI?
Austin Flynn - Texas somewhere at college level?

Out of curiosity, do most people see Sage as OC or just QB's coach. I would be stunned to see him as an OC, and to be honest stunned to see him as a QB coach. Perhaps a wide receivers or tight ends coach at first. The guy doesn't have any previous coaching experience to the best of my knowledge and he has no experience in our system.
