Tea

Check out Gong Fu in the East Village (DM) I got my cup with a diffuser and a small teapot with diffuser there and love both of them

Gong Fu Tea
I haven't been to Des Moines for ages. However, the place sounds interesting. I live out in the middle of South Dakota on the Nebraska border. I kind of miss getting lost in Des Moines. Have they got the city layout fixed yet? The last time I was there, man, I am better off forgetting. They were fixing everything. I wanted to go to the boys state basketball championship once in recent years, my team was rated no 1 all year, but then they got beat out in sub-state. That was the last time I even thought of going to Des Moines.

Downtown construction seems to be finishing up. New signage has helped get around the downtown. East Village is a fun area to explore.

Loose silver needle white tea has been my favorite in moderation. It can get expensive but i usually just go half and half with some loose green matcha tea.

The silver needle I get comes from the Octavia tea company or rishi. Take a look online, there are quite a lot of options. For some reason, it seams that most of the tea I've really enjoyed has come from Oregon, but one could fine good tea locally in central Iowa. I think I've seen silver needle at Wheatsfield in Ames before.

Which one is tea, and which one is weed?

A: Tea
B: Weed - Dark thing weed is on=your coffee table. When you hear POLICE SEARCH WARRANT, POLICE SEARCH WARRANT, POLICE SEARCH WARRANT, and loud pounding on your door plus a loud BANG outside, stop what ever you are doing, lay on the floor with empty hands. That is all.

I picked that way too. Anything serves as tea these days, they make tea out of so many things. There is a ginger drink from China there at the Great Wall also. I love it on winter days. You can make it to burn your tongue if you want. Also I like Red Zinger, the old celestial seasonings tea. They have a tea with Acai berries and mango that is really good. Makes you want to do a samba.

Thought I'd resurrect and old thread and see if anyone has any suggestions for where to get loose leaf tea. I'm a big fan of Plantation Mint by Bigelow and would like to be able to replicate something close to it in loose leaf. It's a black tea with spearmint.

Teavana in the Jordan Creek Mall (or online) has really good loose leaf tea, although it is a little expensive. They'll let you try a bunch of flavors too before buying.

My stepmom bought me a Teavana Tea Maker for Christmas and use it everyday. Link here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&tag=majeslynxtech-20&linkId=A643WR2ABDG2JT7Y

Anyway, she got me some teas from TeaVana and they were good but a little expensive. I keep trying new places from this spreadsheet. It is from reddit.com/r/tea. I don't know what the Bigelow Mint Tea tastes like but the
North African Mint from DavidsTea is ******* fantastic. (Link: http://www.davidstea.com/organic-north-african-mint?&TF=&DEID=) It has a real earthy and minty flavor.

Personally, I love iced tea so I am trying to find teas that taste good iced as well as hot. The pink lemonade from DavidsTea is super refreshing. So is the Raspberry and Lime tea from TeaVana.

I love Bigelow lemon black tea or whatever but wanted to upgrade to a nicer tea and found that Upton Tea Imports have a lemon black tea and I really like it.

I just ordered online. You can search only black teas for the word "mint" and you have a few options.

Freidrichs (coffee shop here in DSM) has good loose leaf tea too and at a cheaper price than other places :)
