My dad remembers those days. When Iowa fans complain about Ferentz he simply states that they don't know how lucky they have been under him.

your dad's correct. I had the pleasure of watching Iowa play in the 70s. Those were some fun Saturdays!!! My Hawkeye fan friends didn't think so, though.

Iowa won 2 Rose Bowls in the 50s, and went 24-3-2 from '56 to '58.

I think they're up to 5 or 6 national titles.
They've started claiming them from the 19-oughts, 10's and 20's, back when Zabel was a pup.

I know it's "beating the dead horse," but I am still amazed that Iowa couldn't even make a bowl game with how well their schedule laid out and how "down" the BIG is.

Pre-season, the majority of Iowa fans were expecting an 8-10 win season and frankly, I thought that 8 wins was achievable with that schedule.

Just more reasons that it's a great time to be Cyclone fan!
