I think Meineke Car Care is the most likely bowl for us as well. The opponent would be #6 from the Big Ten.

Nebraska, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Northwestern should be off the board already. The 5th team will probably be Michigan State, if they beat Minnesota in two weeks.

That would leave the bowl to choose from a 6-6 Minnesota team on a two-game losing streak or a 6-6 Purdue team on a three-game winning streak. I'd agree that Purdue would be a more likely pick for the Meineke Car Care Bowl. However, if Purdue stumbles over the next two weeks, there might only be one team available from the Big Ten for the bowl to pick from, and if we go there, it would be a rematch of the 2009 Insight Bowl.

I want Purdue, because as a Cyclone homer, I'd love to play another team that beat Iowa... just because.

No way TCU gets a better bowl game if they have the same record as ISU.

Of course there is, especially if it is a prime slot for ESPN where they will have input on the decision. TCU is a better brand than Iowa State (sorry, but that is true) currently and the fact that we beat them this season matters none.

This is the exact scenario that I have projected.

That would be the Super Bowl Champions Bowl. We want to win that one.

I'd say Mizzou is too...but we jumped them to get to the Insight bowl a few years ago...just sayin.

ESPN has zero input on bowl decisions and ISU is a far more attractive team to bowls reps then TCU.

I don't believe that for one second.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think you are wrong.

I'd love to think that my school is more attractive, but I just don't think that's the case.

ISU travels better then TCU. We out numbered them in Houston in 2005.

That was a very different situation in my opinion, and I had ISU projected to the Insight Bowl over Mizzou that year.

That game was on the NFL Network and the priority for the Insight Bowl was selling tickets, not higher tv ratings.

BTW, that game was one of the least viewed games that bowl season.

It is my opinion that selling tickets will not be the number one priority of the Holiday Bowl.

I could be wrong. I hope I am.

Selling tickets and getting people to the destination is always the number 1 priority for bowl games.
