Thinking of purchasing one to save cost on heating bill, thoughts? Thanks Cyclones.

Cold? You could let the neighborhood stray cats in and have them sit on you or you could just have a snort of that Cedar Ridge in the cupboard.

We use it on our three seasons porch at my parent's house, during like fall. Not super effective during winter.

I did some research on space heaters and the bottom line is, they are all about the same. Some may have a better fan, some may circulate better, but when it comes right down to what they are for ... producing heat .... they are all about the same. Wattage on them all is in the 1,500 range and that directly correlates to the no. of BTUs they put out. The only way to get more heat out of any space heater is to buy one that is made for a 220 outlet.

Going cheap is not a good idea. The Eden Pure type are awesome and they can warm up a large cold room very effectively. I know knock-offs exist.... Haven't tried them. The bigger name ones are very expensive.

Cold?
A good shot of fine whiskey always gets the job done, plus you usually get a tingley feeling run through your body at the same time.

2 fun facts for you guys.

#1 The LED lights that have been replacing some street lights...I'm sure you have noticed them...have been causing problems because they freeze over. They are too efficient at creating light instead of heat so ice/snow build up on the new ones, unlike the older ones.

#2 Over in Europe...England I think...they have banned certain wattages of light bulbs. Certain enterprising individuals over there brought in the "illegal" light bulbs and now sell them as heaters. Legally. And at a considerable profit. True story.

Both examples of a free market system making money despite government intervention. #1 yet to happen (sell transparent heater covers for lights), #2, if you can't beat 'em, call it something else and you're good.

If this begins the approach to the cave, feel free to delete.

The point of using LED though was to save on energy costs. If they need to used "heaters'' for the stoplights then why are they using the LED's in the first place? lol But invent it...i'm sure you'll make a killing!

Infrared heaters are the best option , if you want to purchase any heater. It is cheap and does not use any costly fuel to work. These heaters uses infrared radiations as a fuel. It is basic need for the people who lives in very much cold.

Tell me more about this use of "infrared radiations as a fuel" business. I am sensing a business opportunity here that is many times greater than cheap, high-quality jersies.
