2011 KSU game was closer than I remembered

I know last year's game was close, but I remember feeling that we were never going to get over the hump and win last year. I just looked at last year's stats, and wow... the only difference is the turnovers.

Yep, we gave them all they wanted last year. Just couldn't get over the hump.

There was a bad play call on a late 4th down deep in KSU territory. IIRC, it was a stretch run to Woody that KSU saw coming a mile away and blew up deep in the backfield.

You are correct. It was a bit too conservative of a play call in that situation.

While I like your post, I really believe that KSU 2012 is quite a bit better than KSU 2011.

I hate this post especially from our own fans. Yes they are likely better. But are we also a better team? I think yes.

And that is a huge difference. Many times that turnover stat (other than scoreboard) is the one that seems to matter the most. That's why Snyder's teams are so successful, because they don't give the ball away on offense.

If you knew nothing else, who would you guess won the game below?

TCU won the statistical game rather handily, but it was all wiped out by turnovers.

That was an incredible defensive move to dive under our line to break up the play.

I seem to remember the game really close at the very end... weren't we tied with about 3 minutes to go before KSU scored the game winner?

Wasn't there an awful call on an interception or fumble against us late in the game too that was a killer? I believe it led directly to their go ahead score IIRC.

*Note, I haven't seen this game in a year.

Iowa State drove and (with the help of a fake punt) kicked a field goal to tie it 23-23. K-State drove and scored a touchdown. Kicked it back to ISU, who had the drive sputter out on downs after Woody was stuffed on a 4th and 2.

I don't know which call you're referring to.

You could be absolutely right, I was going off memory. I swear there was a bad fumble or INT that either wasn't reviewed or went against us that was pretty bad.
