I've finally replaced my old desktop after about 7 years. Does anyone have recommendations for anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc. for my new desktop? I've used AVG in the past, which seemed to work fine. Anything I need other than anti-virus and anti-spyware? Thanks for your help!

CCleaner is a useful tool for periodically deleting temporary files in your computer. Also has a registry cleaner. Recommend it highly.

Did you buy a computer that uses Windows and has a large hard drive? My suggestion is that you install Ubuntu in a dual boot system along with your Windows. If you use Windows for only Microsoft Office and those programs that will only work with Internet Explorer and use Ubuntu for everything else your your computer will give you trouble free, like-new performance much longer. Please realize that I am NOT knocking Windows. The online threats (viruses and trojans) that attack Windows are not written to attack Ubuntu. Your computer thus is allowed to operate in a non threatening environment and remain the wonderful electronic marvel that you purchased.

Or just be smart about what you do and where you go on the internet. Dont click on any ads or pop ups. Dont install software just cuz its free and if you happen to, dont take the defaults all the way through, actually read what its installing.

is this upgrade like changing from radio to HDTV?

Get a Mac; they don't need antivirus, and they just "work".

I'll give you the list of our company e-mail addresses. If you could go ahead and send this out that'd be great.
