I've gone to the fair up in Spencer for a lot of years now. Just about every year, the big game with Iowa is during one of the weekends. I'm used to seeing a lot of Hawk fans at the fair the day of/after the game wearing their gear. Surprisingly there were not that many sporting the black and gold, but plenty of folks proudly wearing Cardinal and Gold, including me. I had tons of folks comment on the game to me since I was wearing ISU stuff. Great fair weather, good junk food, and no razzing about the game. What more could you ask for?

My dad was from up that way, and I always liked going to the fair. Really great food, and with it in September there was always a better chance of it not being 100 degrees!

My parents live south of there. The CC Fair is no Iowa State Fair, but they still have a lot of stuff to eat and see, and a lot less people most days than the state fair.

I have been to the Clay county fair one time. I turned down tickets to the ISU game in Iowa City because I thought we were going to get killed. Went to the fair with family instead. The year, 1998......

I have attended in the past. I like the train building.
They have really gone all out with the trains in the new KICD building. I miss the little ramps for the kids that the old building had, but the new one has a big screen TV that has had sports on every time I'm at the fair, usually ISU vs Iowa. This time it was the Vikes taking care of business.

Ha! I was there! I thought we were going to get killed too! I have been fortunate to make it to some classic games. Iowa in 1998 and 2002. OSU in 2011.

I didn't see any Iowa-ISU games in person at Kinnick where ISU won, so you have one on me. In band in 1988, watched ISU lose 10-3 with an INT in the red zone, amid the 15 game losing streak. I'd have rather been at the CC Fair. I did get to see Nebraska 2009, Nebraska 2002, Nebraska 1992 (for free, cause friends thought we'd get defeated), Colorado 2005 (the tornado game), OSU 2011, and quite a few ISU wins over Iowa in the Jack.
