I posted this in the General Board, but never saw it pop up on the main page, and didn't get many responses so, I'll try on here since its Football related.

Need advice on the two following things;

1. Where is the best place to buy tailgating games?

2. What are your must have songs to play while tailgating?

Better yet, buy booze, share with people that have tailgate games and good music and have a good time! Cyclone fans know how to have fun and most will let you join in!

Agree with the poster who said homemade games are the best. Bring a table, cups, pong balls - those provide you with beer pong, flippy cup, and any others people can dream up.

Make your own bags boards & maybe something else like ladder golf. If you can't figure out how to construct, google is your friend.

As far as songs go, I'd stick with anything upbeat. Popular rock & songs they play during games are good. Basically, just do whatever you feel like. Make your tailgate your own, & have a damn good time. Football Saturdays in the fall are the best days of the year!

Speaking of this. I see the great tailgate threads here and it makes me wish I could be apart of it. I go to the games but because I don't know anyone who tailgates I just come, go to the game and then leave. I was talking with Farnsy and Cash who I think both are tailgate roamers and they said I should do the same. However I'm a very shy and introverted so I just can't walk up and do that also I wouldn't want to appear like a free loader. I really want to become a part of this, anyone willing to hook up a fellow CF'er?

I have always thought of up-beat country and classic rock as being good tailgate music, but it really just boils down to what you like.

Really? You don't seem very shy and introverted. Seriously, you are welcome to join us. Send me a PM.

It's easy to seem out going sitting behind a keyboard. My "online" persona on here is far from the person I'm in person.

Thanks to those that have pm'd with offers to join them. Now I really can wait for Saturday.

I saw tonight that Menards has most outdoor games on sale, if you're OK with the generic, plain versions. Ladder ball sets are like 12 bucks, bags set was 25 or 30. Not bad at all. Wish there was good space in/near the paved lots to play some bocce...

I agree with this. I used to know a few people but most moved away after graduation. Now all my friends around the area are hawks. Would love to meet up with some fellow CF'ers for some drinks pre and post game.

The worst tailgate playlists are the ones that are essentially the playlist from Element cranked in the tailgate lot, or anything that is heavy on current Top 40.

Classic rock, 90's rap, energetic non-screamo modern rock, and classic country are pretty much the way to go. Basically anything that isn't "Today's Hits" or "Hottttt Country" type radio stations.

So I should scrap my Katy Perry/Taylor Swift inspired playlist? Back to the drawing board I guess...

Where did you see that? I can't seem to find it online, and would like to verify it's still happening before driving to Ankeny.
On a related note, would anyone know where to get a cheaper 6-inch hole saw to make a bags game with? I don't really want to invest in one when I'll only use it once.

Altoona, on the end of the isle by the lawnmowers. I almost bit on the ladder ball, but the kids are 2 & 4, not quite ready for golf balls on rope yet... I can see that going horrible awry!
