With the near completion of of the new athletic complex on the south side of campus, maybe it would be a good time to start pumping more awareness and funds towards ISU lacrosse, a lot of schools are starting to turn their club teams into division 1 sports. With the raising popularity of lacrosse maybe that would be a good sport to become an early adopter of.

As a former lacrosse player it pains me to say, but Hockey will go wayyyyyyy before Lax. Rugby probably stands a better chance than Lax.

Since ISU has the least sports in the Big 12, I think it is unlikely that we would pick up Lacrosse before some of the other sports we currently don't have that most of the Big 12 does have.

Also, I think the current thought is we need to spend money on bball and football to get their facilities on par with the rest of the conference. So spending money on a sport the rest of the conference doesn't compete in is very unlikely.

Edit: As pointed out below, I was wrong ISU does not have the fewest sports. Thanks theshadow, for taking the time to look it up. I was lazy.

It's far more likely that ISU, if it were to add a sport, would add one that's sanctioned by the Big 12. Hockey, rugby, lacrosse and men's soccer aren't on that list.

West Virginia currently has the fewest sports (15), but they're looking to add.

K-State is next lowest at 16. ISU offers 18.
