I came across this box of slides from July 5, 1980. It was the NBC game of the week for that weekend and the announcers were Merle Harmon in the red jacket and the big guy is Ron Luciano who was a former umpire. The Twins won 2-1. There are a few shots of the players giving the starting lineups before the game. That is Rick Sofield for the Twins and I think it is Bump Wills for the Rangers. Anyway, not great photos but I thought some would like to see some of the old stadium.

I used to love going to 'the Met' as a kid.Could almost always get good seats and my favorite part was when the big jets would come over really low.(the airport was right next door).
Good memories...thanks Wes!

I second the thanks forposting......I have good memories of Met Stadium also..... Roy Smalley and Kenny Landreaux are 2 of the Twins in the background of the pregame shots. Way cool!

How did you scan these? Did you send them out or do you have a slide scanner? I have lots of old slides I don't know what to do with with respect to getting the better ones into digital. These caught my attention because some of those old slides are also from the old Met with pictures of Ron Guidry and Reggie with the Yanks.

I have now made myself nostagic for my old Minolta SR-T 101.

I do have a slide/film scanner that scans one at a time. Right now I am just doing the best I can scanning but it can be hard to get the light correct with the slides. After I am all done I will go back and try to make them look better with photoshop. My scanner became unusable because Nikon did not make the drivers for windows 7 but I found a program to enable me to use it again.
But slides are way harder to get to look decent than negatives.
