Two missing girls

Do you know anything about the dad? Other than what you read on the internet?

You mean this part from the article?

The day before Daniel Morrissey's daughter disappeared, the court set a September date for him in connection with drug charges that allege police found items used to make meth in his home in December.
Morrissey also has a pending domestic assault charge stemming from an August incident where he allegedly assaulted Misty Morrissey.
One of his alleged accomplices in the drug case had a pretrial conference the day of the disappearance, and another codefendant was scheduled to plea the following Monday.
Misty Cook pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute meth in 2003. Misty Morrissey is charged under her maiden

Listen I have 3 kids of my own and the only thing worse than them disappearing would be to be considered a suspect in that disapperance. I get that.
HOWEVER, I don't think in this case, looking at the "past transgressions" of the couple is out of line at all.

I drive that stretch at least 3 times a week and the construction definately slows down the rate of speed, especially east bound during the afternoon. A lot of the time, it has been bumper to bumper. Someone would have seen something in my opinion.

It depends on what there was to see. If a car pulled up to the fence and 4 guys scaled it to grab the girls you are probably right.

If someone just walked up said they knew Justin Beiber and lured them to somewhere more discrete or if it was someone they were familiar with I'm not so sure.

So that stuff isn't true?

Yes, because that's exactly what I'm saying. I'm saying that MAYBE one or two people on this board actually know the guy's demeanor about anything, so let's all make snap judgments about him based on the internet and interviews while his child is missing. It's not like the authorities have looked into it, thought about it, or done anything about his past at all. Also, contrary to what the Black Hawk County Captain has said, they also haven't interviewed any of his friends that were involved with criminal actions.

All I'm saying is to stop the speculation is because all it does is lead to rumors, and unnecessary calls into the tip-line like Abben said today. He was called about a ridiculous rumor because of what people thought the cops couldn't figure out on their own. Leave the professionals to their job, and not say stupid ****.

I Unless there was a child kicking and screaming I'm not sure I would have thought twice about it. Even then, I see plenty of kids throwing fits that it might not have seemed too out of the ordinary.

And it's been done, and he's taken a polygraph test on the matter. I really don't think the cops skipped over those details, so rehashing them as "If I were a cop, I'd look into this" is an asinine comment as it's already been done. Multiple times.

The reason it got brought up is because of the article the Courier put online tonight. You don't like it, take it up with them

but isnt it a little unusual to see a car parked on the side of a highway picking somebody up? thats something you dont see every day. obviously at the time i wouldnt find is sketchy but its something i would remember

I'm with you there. Not sure I would remember it, but I would think at least 1 person would.

That assumes they were abducted by a car parked on the side of highway 20.

Parents aside...just sucks that the police have zero to go on.

This. The entire metro area up here is torn up about it. All of us are praying for a safe return, and we know how safe and cohesive our community is when it comes to stuff like this.

Exactly. I have not kept up with the details of the case, but it would be pretty easy for someone to stage that.

I assume it is/was explicitly known by the grandma that the girls were intending to go to the lake? Would not be hard for someone to pick them up, find out that is where they were headed, and drop the bikes and scent off.

Sad story.

The parents seem to be pretty sketchy and one of the kids had tried to run away a couple of weeks ago.

One wonders if they went with someone willingly....maybe someone they met on the internet?

That is not correct. From everything I have read and from the interviews, the grandma did not know they were intending to go to the lake. The lake is not that close to the grandma's house. It was a normal occurence for the girl's to ride, but in close proximity to the grandma's house (within shouting distance).

If true, it strengthens the plausibility of the location of the bikes to be a ruse.

Had not heard the part about one of the girls trying to run away previously. Is that a town rumor or something that has been published? It certainly makes one look at the case differently.

Does anyone know if any kind of note has been delivered or found? And what kind of impact would that have on how the situation is looked at?
