Wrong, putting on lean muscle helps with weight loss more than jogging. However I doubt 3/4 of this board could jog for 30 minutes without stopping.
You are more than likely not eating properly enough to put on lean muscle. Putting on lean muscle while on a calorie deficit is difficult if youre not in check which im assuming youre not. While you will still be "working out" and burning calories, you more than likely will not be adding muscle. While on a bulk (putting on muscle) most people eat at about 1500 calories over maintenance and then do their cut. Obviously there is bro science involved here but its the gist of it.
