In the hospital my wife is being induced today and were just waiting for everything to get rolling. I am excited to see our newest addition to our family. But, the waiting is killing me. I have a feeling today is going to be a long day. They haven't started with the potosin yet so just relaxing for the moment because I think this will be the last peace and quiet we will get for a while. I'll keep you guys updated. (and no I won't be sending any pics of my wife):twitcy:

With my first born, my wife's water broke at about 11 pm, and she was hatched at 5:15 pm the next day. Congrats, by the way. Hope everything goes well.

If your hospital is anything like ours, the free snacks were much better on the Labor & Delivery floor than they were on the Mother & Baby floor.

Induction/potosin really sucks, especially if you weren't planning on doing it that way. My wife went a week and a half overdue with ours so we didn't have a choice. Just felt like it made everything way harder than it would have been if he came on his own. Just remember to relax and try to be flexible if labor doesn't go the way you guys planned. I think our midwife put it best, getting induced is like starting with one hand tied behind your back. Don't beat yourself up, and most importantly don't let your wife beat herself up, if you end up having to deviate from how you planned to do things. As long as the baby comes out and is healthy, it doesn't really matter.

Oh, and if your nurse tells you to go get something to eat and they'll stay with your wife for awhile, DO IT, even if it feels wrong to leave for a bit. You'll be glad you did when stuff starts going down.

All 3 kids my wife has been in labor for right around 6 hours. I've found its best to make a lot of snide comments and overtly hit on the nurses

agree with the comments part. with my wife in middle of labor, i told her that I was glad this is her and not me. That drew a look.

We have come up with a name but I haven't told anyone so I don't think I'm gonna tell you guys. haha

Congratulations to both of you!
(BTW, the drug name is spelled pitocin. I only mention this because you will want to be sure you spell the new one's name correctly. Unlike my DH initially .....)

Well about 10 mins ago her water broke. They were going to start inducing at noon but I guess the baby is a Honey Badger and it don't care. I am excited and freaked out at the same time.

My mother was in the hospital for a total of 2 hours before both me and my brother and sister were born. I was the last. The had to bring the gurney out to the door. Took 20 minutes for me to pop out.
