11 year old Little Leaguer sued for injuries

I too need money, would anyone be willing to hit me in the face with something?

Some people...the kid was 11! Stupid lady probably wasn't paying attention. People like her just need to stay away from sports. Probably the same lady who sued McDonald's for getting coffee too hot.

I would actually like to see the outcome from this...the nerve of some people, and the fact they are requesting a jury trial? Ha! Because they know there isn't a judge in his right mind that would award them ****.

good - it's about time these little bastards be held accountable for their actions. It isn't hard to throw the ball back to the pitcher. I got so sick of having to chase the ball down or bend over to scoop a 45 ft throw from the dirt because the catcher was too lazy to stand up to throw. Good for this lady, maybe this will spur catchers to learn how to throw.

Pretty sure there's legal precedent for this. If you are at the ballpark, the law presumes that you know the risks associated with the activity, i.e., flying bats, balls, etc.

They would have to prove the kid did it on purpose, which is possible, I guess, but doesn't seem too likely.

Yeah, I don't see this one getting very far.

She does seem like the kind of woman that a kid would want to throw a baseball at though, so she has that going for her.

Is the line already formed, or do I just walk up and knock you down?

I would hope that money could be raised for a defense fund just so they can be put in their place. If $300k+ can be raised for a lady bullied by school kids, then I would hope some cash could be raised for crap like this.

The dad is already angry that Little League Baseball isn't helping too much but I don't see why they couldn't loan the family some money for legal fees.

Couldn't the family counter-sue or something for court costs?
