A team to fear in the playoffs

Jacksonville Jaguars, hands down.

Dismantled the Steelers running the ball - 224 yards! They're 5-1 in their last 6 with the one loss being a close one at Indy.

The combo of Taylor and Jones-Drew is not one I'd like to face, especially in an inclement weather game.

IMO, this is the team that has the best change to take out the Patriots - if such a thing exists. Especially if that game is a snowy/rainy one - which is entirely possible.

The Jags will play at the AFC North winner in the first round - Cleveland or Pittsburgh. The Steelers may be thinking a date with San Diego is better than one with Jacksonville.

I wouldn't blame them.

I think the Vikes showed last night why they should and should not be feared. AP is a damn good running back. That offense just makes too many mistakes right now.

I certainly would not feel good about my team facing them though.

Most likely the Vikes will travel to Seattle in the first round and I would certainly take the Vikings in that one.

And Garrard is the perfect compliment to that pair of running backs, he simply does not make mistakes. Add in a very capable young tight end (Lewis) and some decent ball control receivers and it has all the makings for a team that can grind out the clock.

I firmly believe the Steelers would have a much better chance of winning at San Diego than they would beating Jacksonville at home.

Is Fred Taylor 40 years old yet? He seemed to kind of disappear for a couple of years, injuries me thinky, and now has been rolling the last couple of years.

I'd look to the last 4 weeks for the Vikes, T-Jax took a step back with the picks, but he's looked really solid lately. Vikes are solid in the NFC right now. Outside of the Boys and Pack they should roll any other NFC team.

Agree the Jags are tough, but they must not fall behind. Indy beats them when they get on top early and Jax has to pass. Same thing the Pats will try to do if they meet up. Garrard is solid, but he's not an Elway-type comeback kid. Jags need to run and keep the ball.

I've been a Jags fan since they joined the league in 95. And yea it seems like Fred has been on the team since it started. He had a groin injury that either kept him out for the season or he only played a handful of games for about 4 years

yeah, and normally I'd be cheering for them to go down in flames. But this team is so much harder to hate on.

Moss, Culpepper, Smith, Carter, and the Whizinator are easy to hate.

All the kids, AP (the good one), T Jackson, Chester Taylor and the rest of the newbies are pretty likeable - its sickening but I find myself actually pulling for them these days.

I also believe now that the Steeler have lost their best End (Smith) and FB (Krieder) they aren't the same team --and now the Jags may prove the best team to beat the Pats.

I would much rather play San Diego than Jax -although as a Steeler fan I still think we would fare better in a round 2. (I think LeBeau is always historically better the 2nd time around).

But we could very well lose to them again. As long as weather is a factor the Pats could certainly lose to someone like Jax. The Pats aren't the "cold-weather" team they once were. Moss doesn't play as well, they don't run the ball as well anymore, and their defense has lost a step. OH -and they don't have Vinatierri to bail them out in the snow anymore

They struggled against the Jets somehow, including a gift 6 yard defensive TD. It may not be as open and shut as 99% of the talking heads say it is.

Not bursting your bubble, just looking for an excuse to use that great nickname... I remember watching him in the Gator Bowl for Tennessee and the PA announcer was actually calling him 'Little Man'.

I agree Jackson has played well lately, completely. I also look at the teams he's faced during that run. Nobody special, including the Giants. Many of the points in that game were directly from or setup by turnovers.

The fact that the Vikes have a very good running game and do a great job at stopping the run will make them a tough out. Will depend a lot on Jackson and how well they do in the secondary on defense, as to how long they can last.

All I can say is "wow". I don't understand the media's sudden love affair with Minnesota. They played a Bears defense that has been sub-par all year and struggled mightily to put up 20 points. That's not something that "scares" me if I were a team having to face them in the playoffs. I can agree that there's probably not any other teams besides the Big 2 that I would fear in the NFC either...
