Just for the record...I'm extremely thoroughly impressed.
This guy is top notch when it comes to personal strength and
conditioning, Ive worked with some of the best ever and there is no doubt
in my mind that he is right up there.I bring this up because I spent the last
2 weeks doing a McNight workout and it just reinforces the fact that this guy really knows what he is doing.
I only wanted to bring this up to let CF know that the Strength and Conditioning
Program is in very good hands.
The progress of the current players is phenomenal.
I'm really glad this guy is on our staff.I have no doubt you'll notice the difference
come this fall.
Just letting you all know.
Go Cyclones.

Cool. It is good to hear. Lots of injuries happen (or don't happen) because of what takes place with the strength and conditioning programs.

Very interesting. I'd be interested in the details of an average 2-week cycle of his program, for my own benefit, if you'd be willing to provide any insight.

I'd love to but thats the beauty of McNight...everything he does is custom.
Each person has a specialized workout based on there strengths and
weaknesses.

I could PM you my workout but I'm afraid it would kill you...No2.

I want it.

I thought we've really improved physically after getting this guy. I thought it really showed the first year even. They are getting better and better every year, and I can't wait to see what he does with a much improved training facility,.

it would be interesting to know but I'm guessing yancy wouldn't like his secrets out there so i understand why it's secretive

Thats great to hear. I have read great things about him. The biggest question mark when you lose seniors is how will the new guys step into their roles? Will they be big and physical enough on the O and D lines to replace 4th or 5th year seniors. The young guys we have playing at a high level speaks volumes for McKnight (and others)

My question to you is, how is the speed program? Im very curious as to what McKnight has Knott and Klein doing. Those two guys are a great 40 time at the combine away from being top 2 rounds in the NFL draft. And their speed is essentially the only thing that limits them as it is. (Not that they're slow).

And here we were told that Chiz had the great workout staff. Of course we were getting injuries. Now it seems like are athletes are injured less seriously as a group. Yancy in switching up techniques deopending on the person is a great effort.....like a specialized diet for every person on the team....

My son-in-law is a Hawkeye fan who think's Iowa's strength and conditioning coach (Doyle?) is one of the best. How does McKnight compare?

Doyle is without a doubt one of the best, although the rhabdo thing is a bit of a negative. Yancy may be very good, but he hasn't proved it at ISU as much as Doyle has at Iowa.

Yancy hasn't had the pieces though. Let's see what he does with guys like Irving and Aka. It's way to early to compare him to Doyle and yes, Doyle is one of the best.

Doyle was recently named Master S&C coach, the highest honor for S&C coaches. I'm not sure how many S&C coaches in the nation have this honor, but it's not very many. (less than 20)

So far, Yancy has been doing a great job. Only time will tell if he's a top notch S&C coach.

There are actually over a 100 total and Ken Shephard is one of them. I don't know a lot about the award but that tells me it is based on more than knowledge and performance. I think it is a class you take. I am by no means saying that Doyle is not a top notch S&C coach, he is a great coach.
