If I'm not mistaken you all had about 14,000 show up for a volleyball match...I think it was posted in a "here is ISU" thread on our boards but it is gone....anyone got the pic?

I believe this is from that year.

Thanks...we had to put one of our own back in his place.

That crowd is just staggering...our women's team is going to pee themselves when they come to play you all.

That's not normal and the crowd has never come close to that since then IIRC. There were some massive specials including free or $1 admission.

Iowa State has been in the top 20 in attendance, nationally, for the last five years. Once in a while, we'll have an outstanding crowd (as in 2009 for the kNU game) when they run a promotion. But we show up every game and we're loud. We're averaging 22.5 wins over the last four seasons and have made at least the Sweet 16 in four of the last five years.

Our 2011 average attendance was 2,225, which is good for 15th in the nation.

I've been to a few of our volleyball games despite living 5 hours away. Sad to say but expect to play in front of about 200 in Morgantown. It looks even worse since they play in the colosseum which holds about 14000. We do the same thing with promotions, they gave away Chick Fil A sandwiches at the last one I went to.

Biggest reason it was 2 hours after a football game.

1) tailgate
2) football
3) tailgate
4) volleyball
5) figure a way to get back to the hotel

Hmm, copying the Carver-Hawkeye men's bball plan I see...

My friends and I used to head to Volleyball games all the time. One of the guys was seeing a VB player, they were a good time. I was pumped for that game, I think we had just beaten #1 Texas earlier that week so we thought this was the perfect stage to set us up for a top 5 ranking. Oh well, what could have been.
