Seems to be a tornado outbreak gearing up for Saturday from Oklahoma to Western Iowa for Saturday.

High risk for severe weather already posted in those areas. There is a potential for long track, very dangerous tornadoes in this area along with the other usual suspects of severe weather... large hail and high wind. Looks to be an evening into overnight situation.

Please everyone take note of changing weather conditions tomorrow and be safe.

I obviously don't wish the storms on anbody, but I sure hope we can get some rain out of this system. I've never seen some creeks and rivers as low as they are right now. We've got zero subsoil moisture out there.

Not sure I should be going to Lamoni tomorrow...

I don't see the big deal, tell Janny to man up, pop the kid in the back, away you go. Just don't forget the armor plating, that's key.

No kidding. The lake we have a cabin at is down 30 inches.

Can't put our boat in for summer

My former high school's prom is tomorrow night. I hope the weather gets so bad that they have to cancel it for one reason or another... I love seeing all of my younger high school friends ***** and complain.... Muwahahahahahahahaha

Hmmm, got a Spring football game at 2.

Ya, whats the word on this? I kinda have to be there.

edit:

Is it bad I work in a building with 2 of the top 35 weather guys in the world down the hall from me, the largest weather staff, most accurate weather in the world for the past 5 years straight, 5 times more accurate than the NWS and I still rely on cyfan for my info lol.

When looking at radar early this morning I did not like the set up, LA is getting hit right now and that jet stream just dove southwest of the low setting tonights (southern states) and tomorrows tornadic weather for us. Going to southeast Iowa tomorrow, hmmm maybe some chasing might be involved.

Perfect! The Subie is getting an upgrade.

I'm hoping the Ames area gets some good storms. I don't want any damage or injuries obviously, but I love a good storm

From most scenarios it appears that the worst of this system as far as tornado activity goes should stay west of the metro. Are there any factors that potentially look like they could shift this system to the east and put the metro in the firing line?

I always like to know just how much I need to be paying attention to the situation with the weather when storms like these are predicted.
