That is really cheap for his first two arbitration years and his first two years of free agency. He probably won't put up 7 WAR again, but that's still seems like great value.

I think he was set to make something like $4.75m this year so $6m and $9m to buy out this year and his final arbitration year seems pretty fair if not a bit generous on the Royals part. If what he did last year is the real Alex Gordon going forward though, the Royals got a steal with this contract. Pretty fair deal for both sides I'd say.

STOKED. 4 years is a little odd however, being that will be Hoz's first year out of arbitration, but hopefully we lock him up before that happens. This offseason we signed our C, SS, and all-star LF to long term deals. Awesome.
