Hack-a-Royce?

IT'S RAILEY TIME

The closest I can find to that in Iowa State lore is Barney Alleman in 1952-53 who shot 33% by making just 13 of 40 attempts.

Why the hell doesn't he get fouled more? You would think he would get sent to the FT line more often than he does

Because 29% of the time it goes in everytime.

Nice first post, Royce.

Hacking Drummond actually sounds like a solid strategy. Say we're losing with under 4 minutes to go, let's put in Railey and give it a shot. 29% is unbelievably bad.

Free throw contest between Royce and Drummond.

Can we sub Fred in at the end if it's a close game? I know he's wearing a jersey waiting for the perfect time to come in.

Drummond doesn't really get the ball in a spot he can easily be fouled at. He usually gets the ball on offense when he is in position to finish quickly. On the few post-ups he has, he isn't really gifted enough to bother fouling, usually. He has had games and moves that are impressive, but it's not a common thing.

Probably the same reason we don't see Royce at the line more than he is. Royce either dishes off, makes a quick move to the basket and beats his guy, or he just doesn't touch the ball when we're leading close game and towards the end. You can foul a guy, but I don't think you can do it all night.
