It was supposed to be the greatest conference ever assembled.... Then a bottom feeder big 12 team wins the conference tourney the first year... lol

agree that the Pac-12 is a joke but I was very happy to see Colorado make it to the dance this year seeing as they got the shaft of a lifetime last season
The Pac 12 sucks, no other way around it.
I think I saw someplace that Pac 12 teams are 1-31 against non conference RPI top 50 teams.
It's RPI Top 30 teams. The Pac-12 is bad, but not THAT bad. Lower level teams from the Pac-12 actually beat Texas and NC State in the preseason
Its pretty funny how quickly the pac went from obscurity, to huge 'powerhouse' conference during realignment that everyone wanted to be in, to obscurity again.

The Pac 12 really is that bad. Their only lock for the tourney is the Pac 12 tournament champion. MVC and A-10 conferences are better than them.Lower level MVC teams also beat us in the non-conference. What does it mean? Nothing. It's RPI Top 30 teams. The Pac-12 is bad, but not THAT bad. If they didn't have such a **** schedule, they'd be a lock right now. I think their SOS is in the 90's.Cal is pretty close to a lock as well. It would be a big surprise if they were left out.
PAC 12 is down and the flavor of the day seems to be bashing it, but I would still rather see
a conf. champ like Wash. in tourney than a team like Seton Hall that did not finish .500 in their conf.

This year was the first in the new-look Pac-12's existence, and it was totally deserving of a mulligan: As of Tuesday, the Pac-12 was a combined 1-30 against the RPI top 50 in 2012, with the only win coming over RPI inflation case Colorado State, which Stanford beat all the way back on Nov. 15.
No. It's (or at least was) the RPI top 50.
Pac-12 tournament primer - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN
From the article:
Texas and NC State have moved into the top 50 (48th and 49th respectively) as a result of conference tournament results. But as of the end of the regular season, the Pac12 had only one top 50 win.
