Looking into it more I wouldn't be so sure. The CBI has NEVER had a BCS level school in the tournament. The CBI has averaged 2 BCS teams a year for the 4 year history. A Big 10 school has never competed in either.
If history stays the same Iowa won't be playing in the postseason this year
I don't understand. Am I missing something? They never had a BCS level school in the tournament but they have averaged 2 BCS teams? Huh?
Washington, Virginia, Oregon St, Utah Boise St, Stanford...
Hell Oregon won it last year.
Sorry just edited my post
Ah, I get it now. I see that no B10 team has ever played it in, but BCS teams have. So it wouldn't shock me at all.
CIT is ran by a mid-major guy and is generally designed to cater to mid-majors. It's not really intended to host big six teams.
A camel-hawkeye rematch would be a ratings bonanza.
I thought i heard somewhere that Fran said he would go if given the opportunity.
Both are great tournaments! I hate waiting all year just for the CBI and CIT to start.
Oh boy, a 'back handed dig at the hoks' question!!at this point they aren't going to the NIT. Even if they beat Illinois they aren't beating Michigan State in round two and won't get in with a 17-16 record. So the question is, do they pay the $$ to get in a tournament?
What? It's true. You don't believe me 11en1?Aww ISU is finally good and the chest pounding begins. It's so cute.
