Who would have thought those guys would end up in the NCAA and be a somewhat quality win? Glad we held on to that game. Maybe a tough non conference like they had pays off.

look at their non-con schedule. it was brutal. not surprised they only won 1 non-con game. maybe should have got 2-3, but the rest was brutal.

Take a look at their non con schedule. Anything they see now would be a cake walk.

I don't care how crappy the SWAC conference is. For that team to be still undefeated in conference play is impressive.

And I don't disagree. But the bottom line is MVSU, no matter how many more wins they get, isn't going to get themselves into the RPI top 100, which means that win isn't going to help us any.

I can see them being one of those 15 or 16 seeds that gives a top seed a pretty tough game for a half and maybe even 30 minutes but then just wears out towards the end due to lack of talent and depth.

When I went to the NCAA tournament in Oklahoma City a couple of years ago #16 Lehigh gave Kansas a very hard time in the first half before losing. Of course, Kansas lost a couple of days later.

Smart for a team like that to play mostly bigtime games before conference play.

It is an interesting study in team psychology.

Suppose you have a good team at a small school. Are you doing them any good scheduling them to a probable 0-14 record (I believe they played every non con game on the road). If the team is built with the right personalities, it's possible they could be determined to take their lumps for the athletic department and rally around their conference play. That's what MVSU has done.

But it's possible they could get ground down to the point of extreme fragility as well.
