I don't dislike the hawks. I just hate hawk fans and the media personalities who think the big 10 is great.

Couldn't agree more. Gatens played out of his mind. Both teams seemed to fall apart in the end, but Gatens had such amazing play it didn't matter, he put Iowa that much further ahead of Wisconsin.
That being said Wisconsin's offense really sucked tonight. Not sure if it's that way every night but oh my god.
There is an awful lot of crying in this thread. Geez, Iowa wins a home game against a team they already beat this year and you would think the world is coming to an end.
Good win by Iowa. Congrats. It looks pretty likely that they will finish with 17 or 18 wins and get into the NIT. Good for them. It is all on the back of Gatens so I am kinda happy that his excellent play the last 3 games should get him into the post season before he ends his career.
Let them enjoy their win. It doesn't deter from our season so who cares. In fact, it makes our beating them that much better, since they obvious are capable of beating good teams, right?

Gottlieb already did. Can't wait to see how our fans freak out about him tweeting how Iowa should be in over ISU, when in reality he's probably doing it just to troll us and make us angry.

Of course. According to Palm, 1 Road Win over Wisconsin is more important than two home losses against Nebraska and Campbell.

Maybe not for you, but whenever Iowa has done something decent in bball this year, it's not because they are maybe improving, but rather "The Big Ten sucks" blah blah blah. Maybe it's not the #1 conference, I dunno, but RPI says they are, and the OOC record sides with that ranking. So yes, when posters try to down-play Iowa's 4 wins against ranked opponents, they either aren't very smart, or have sour grapes. Can you imagine the optimism and excitement on this board if ISU had taken care of business against Mizzou and @ Kansas? Two more wins against ranked teams.
And there's the Clones21 we all know and love. Where has any Iowa fan said the Hawks are going to the NCAA?
When he's talking to Iowa fans he constantly ***** on Iowa. When he's talking to ISU fans he constantly ***** on ISU and loves Iowa.
He definitely has to be a troll and I really wish he would get perma-banned already.
Re: rushing the court/field after a win. It isn't just about who you beat, it also has a lot to do with HOW you beat them. Buzzer beaters get people excited regardless of who the opponent is.
If you beat a #20 team by 15 points with no drama, court rush not likely. Beat that same team by 1 or 2 and possible buzzer beater==rushing of the court. Just my opinion.

Iowa gives students free tickets, pizza, ice cream and Gatens bobbleheads ... that's like tying a porkchop around your kid's neck to get the family dog to play with him.

I think the main thing is that we don't believe that Wisconsin is at a higher level than say, Texas. And that Indiana is that much higher of a level than KState. I'd say those teams are at least close to equal, but for whatever reason the Big 10 teams have been ranked all year. If those two teams are ranked, ISU gets to have two wins vs ranked opponents more than they have now with a good chance to beat Kstate on Saturday and add another. That is how I feel at least.
Also, Iowa dodged OSU, Michigan, and MSU in terms of playing them twice this year, so the teams that Iowa played weren't really the teams that have elevated the Big 10 so high in the rankings.
