That was a nasty crash. Damn good thing all the safety measures NASCAR has adopted.

Pretty amazing when you see the impact from the outside and then see the impact from the in-car camera focused on her in the driver seat. She really doesn't move around much after a big hit like that. Safety has come a long way.

The reason Dale died... didn't have a HANS, and i believe no safer barriers. I may be wrong on safer barriers though

Right, I'm just saying that all wrecks that look awful aren't worse than the ones that look somewhat pedestrian.

Believe me I know this first hand.

It's very interesting how much Materials Science there is in safety.

I saw a presentation about a material that's very good at absorbing energy and they are testing it as a safety barrier material. Very cool that she's okay, and very cool that science is making extreme sports safer.

CyCrazy, yes I have and Ryan Newman. They both try to come to race at Knoxville every fall. The wreck above was at Knoxville.

And to answer the PM question you sent me, yes he is.

That's pretty cool, I was pretty sure on both my questions but couldn't tell if it was knoxville or not.
Im guessing my FIL has done some shocks for you then.

Nice crash........but Gordon's was more impressive on Saturday night. Always sucks though, when it's not their fault.

I'm just bummed that she had to crash on that lap. Jr. was about to smoke Smoke

That looked like a wild ride you took there. Knoxville can do that sometimes. I haven't made it down there for the Nationals you race in but I do go down there fairly regularly for the sprint car races. I'll have to check out your show later in the year. Isn't it in October?

When you posted those pictures and mentioned Ryan Newman, I couldn't help but think of this.

How do the drivers walk away from this stuff, let alone survive?
