NFL: Vikings Exhibition in Ames?

Before you get too excited, this is just a Twin Cities ESPN Radio personality tossing out ideas about where the Vikings can play games during stadium construction. On Twitter, no less.

LOL. As a Vikings fan and an even bigger Cyclone fan (and a native Iowan) - I can say without anyone getting on my case about it: That would be an all time low for the Vikings to play in Ames.

Vikings fans had to take enough crap from other teams fans when the roof collapsed. If they start doing the midwest exhibition tour through Ames they'll be the laughing stock of the league.
 
How many fans go to exibition games anyway? I think it would be a good idea to get some new fans. Plus, ISU could try and charge them for our services. I think a bowled in SEZ would suffice.
 
Even as a Bears fan I think this would be really cool and great for Iowa State and Ames. There are a lot of Vikings fans in Iowa that would go and even some Iowa NFL fans of other teams would go (I know I would). I doubt it will happen but would be very cool nonetheless.

HEY SHOW A LITTLE RESPECT BRO! JUST BECASUE YOU'RE NOT A FAN OF A PARTICULAR TEAM DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD BELITTLE THEM. NOT COOL DUDE. ANYWAYS I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MY VIKES PLAYIN IN THE LEGENDARY JACK TRICE STADIUM, I THINK IT WOULD BE AN HONOR FOR BOTH SIDES TO COME TO AN AGREEMENT FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS AND PEOPLE COULD DRINK AT THE GAME, WHICH I KNOW IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD APPRECIATE MR. MIP..
 
I'd go and I'm definitely not a Vikings fan. I'd just love to see an NFL game at JTS. That said, I'd be shocked if this happened.
 
This would be awesome, especially if they could get the chiefs as an opponent.

That said, there has to be no way that this ends up happening. They'd probably go to Iowa City before coming here.
 
The Vikings have more season ticket holders than Jack Trice holds. Will never happen. They'd play at TCF long before they'd even consider Jack Trice. I'm guessing JTS ranks right next to the FargoDome.

Typical response from you.

Jack Trice, with hillsides holds more than TCF Bank and about 3x what the FargoDome holds.

I'm not saying the Vikings would do this (mostly because of the distance from Minneapolis), but Jack Trice would be miles ahead of the FargoDome and from a capacity standpoint isn't any less desireable than TCF Bank.

51,000 seats in TCF vs 43,000 in JTS is a huge difference. Vikings season ticket holders don't get tickets to sit in hillsides.

And Jack Trice is undoubtedly a better facility than the FargoDome, however they still both have the same chances of hosting an NFL game. .0000000001%. They'd be better off in Kinnick or really screwing themselves and going into Camp Randall. TCF is still the best available option and it isn't even close.
 
I'd shoot for a regular season game. If we cut them a deal better than what they get from UM. JP could make a killing on parking and concessions.
