Although this game should be a win, but is it just me or does it seem like SOMEONE on the opposing team always goes off and has the game of their career against the Cyclones? Below .500 record or not, and with it being on the road, I'm still worried because this ALWAYS seems to happen.

Thoughts?

I've always wondered why people have career games against us.

Not to shoot you down, but that is the perception of pretty much every fan base.

I attached the player impact ratings from the preview on my site...they rely on Tolbert, the freshman to score quite a bit. While they are 0-5 in B12 play the've only played 2 home games and those were against Baylor and Kansas.

They hung tough with Baylor for a half. I don't think they're quite as bad as their record even if they struggle to score.

These guys really arent that bad, and seem to play some really good D at times. We have to bring it on D.

They play hard and will be very well coached. They have some offensive limitations but we better show up or we can definitely get beat. They are very hungry for a win.

I just want to get out of there with a victory, whether its by 1 or 30.

I agree with the post saying its every fanbase' perception that guys have career games against them. I was thinking about this very question the other day. I think that a good reason for this happening is because defenses are designed to stop the strength of the opponent....take away a strength, and it gives opportunities to a perceived weaker player to have his day in the sun.

Seemed like someone always had a career night against us in the GMAC years. It was ridiculous.

What has been wrong with Babb the last three games, I realize part of his focus has been to become one of our premier defenders, but lately what was one of our top scorers has become minimal at best

He went through it earlier as well. He's a streak shooter, not a great shooter. He does spend a lot of energy on defense.

No!!!! My therapist and I removed that nightmare from my consciousness. Now it comes crashing back! :pconfused:

One thing Royce White said post game on Wednesday, there is no BAD team in this conference. There are teams that have struggled more than others. We have to bring it every night, home and away.

From ESPN:

POINTS PER GAME

64.0 257th OVERALL

REBOUNDS PER GAME

32.2 285th OVERALL

ASSISTS PER GAME

11.5 269th OVERALL

FIELD GOAL PCT

.457 94th OVERALL

I know there is no easy win in Big12 play, especially on the road, but I will be very upset if we lose to a team of those kind of rankings.
I'm slightly worried about the game. But only slightly.

You can count on one hand the number of conference road wins we've had in the last several years, and you're only slightly worried about this game?

I always view us as the underdog going into a conference road game. The statistics don't lie. If we can sneak out of Lubbock with a win tomorrow, I'll be very excited.

It is somewhat due to happenstance and what ISU teams have happened to played in Lubbock, but ISU is 1-6 (.1429) in Lubbock since the start of B12 play and 3-13 in Lawrence (.1875).

Last I knew Iowa State had the most wins in the Phog of any team. At least in the last couple decades. Is that still the case?
