Look, I get it. Iowa is in the Big Ten, and ISU fans hate Iowa. No brainer.

What I don't get is the over-obsession by quite a few people on here with the BIG. I guess I just don't get the mindset of treating an entire conference as an opposing (or favorite) team.

Personally, I was happy with UW's loss (especially the way it happened), because Iowa and UW are rivals. I don't want them to win a Rose Bowl. Ever. I was hoping Sparty would lose, because, well, I hate Dantonio. A lot.

Especially if my favorite team doesn't contribute to the strength of the conference.

Just my opinion.
 
I'm sorry :cry: .... GO BIG TEN!!!! WIN ALL OF YOUR GAMES!!!!!.... Now I feel better
 
The big 10 is BAAAAADDDDDD. They suck. Awful. Pathetic football. AND,............. Iowa, who plays in the big 10, could only muster a 7-6 season. So, by definition, they are really really really sucky!!
 
Really? People are tired of seeing the Big Slow suck year-in-year out. Michigan playing in BCS bowl is mind blowing.

I don't get the over-obsession of the BIG either.

I will actually route for every BIG team as long as they are not playing a Big 12 team and as long as the team name doesn't start with the letter I and their mascot rhymes with Squawkeyes.

It couldnt have anything to do with the air of superiority and arrogance that comes from the big 10 and their media friends who love to overrate the conference. Nothing better than bowl season when the big 10 comes out and reminds us all that the big 10 is a fraud.

I guess if the cause of all the BIG obsession is because of Iowa, isn't that a round-about way of obsessing over Iowa? Afterall, why aren't there as many SEC, Pac12, Big East, ACC hate threads? In fact, I'd be willing to bet that the number of BIG related threads outnumber the total topics of all the other BCS conferences combined.
