I know there has been past posts about a new coordinator, but is there anyone that has any inside news on who it might be? Come on guys feed this fat kid with some cake:wideeyed:

noooooo On Tony Franklin. His offense sucks. See Tommy Tuberville getting fired from Auburn.

How much is Rhoads going to be able to fork out to the new offensive coordinator? More than what Herman was getting I hope?

I'm sure the 6 games he was allowed to coach (while trying to change systems) before Tuberville used him as a sacrificial lamb is a great indication of how his system is run...

Yes. His assistant salary pool was increased by $350,000 for this season and another $300,000 for next season. Granted that will be split between the entire staff but I'd guess the OC will see a larger portion than a position coach.

His offense works they didn't even stick with it a year. I'm not sure what offense they were using before but I know the coordinator before him had either stepped down or been fired(I think he runs a trucking company now). Tubberville might have been more of the problem. T-Tech's O has done nothing but declined since he got there.

I wouldn't read too much into that.

I'll be watching his team on Weds night go up against a very good TCU defense. If they can put up points on TCU, he'd have to be worth a look.

Chip Kelly. Also heard LaMichael James considered transferring with him but realized he would be buried on depth chart.

Agreed. I'd say a better indication would be his time at Kentucky & Troy. At Kentucky, he took over for Mike Leach and the next year Kentucky was 2nd the nation in passing & 10th in total offense. At Troy, his offense was 16th in total offense, before then the best they had ever been was 109th.

The stat when he was at Kentucky is noteworthy. However, Troy is in the Sun Belt....not what you call stiff competition imo.

Was it the competition that Troy was playing or the talent level he had to work with?

Playing in the Sun Belt can go both ways when speaking of total offense stats.
