Had a 4-3 win over redshirt freshman, Mike Evans. Afterwards Sorenson makes the in advised comment, I'll beat him worse next time. No you won't. What exactly have you done in the last 4 or 5 years Sorenson? Beat him worse? What, 5-4?
really thats ill advised!! I want to hear more and see more of this attitude.

You're the one who just made the ILL-advised comment.
If that was a hawk that said that, you'd be praising them for their confidence.
The 4-3 score was not very indicative of the match. Andrew was never in danger of giving up any offensive points to Evans. Evans wrestled to slow down the pace and succeeded in that, if little else. Evans is crafty on the mat and has a ton of natural talent. My GUESS is that Sorenson wanted to wrestle on his feet rather than let the match be decided rolling around on the mat, and he won as a result of executing that plan. I'm confident that Andrew can find a way to get his attacks off better the next time he sees him, and apparently, so is he. God forbid he have confidence in himself. If he loses to Evans or anybody else in the future, it won't be because of anything he said at a post match press conference.
If we had 9 more starters with the drive and guts that Andrew has, we'd be in the hunt for a national title. Cyclone wrestling fans can find plenty to ***** about this season if they choose to. How Andrew Sorenson could possibly be one of those things is absolutely baffling to me.
Edit to add, what has Sorenson done the last 4-5 years? Well he came in as a recruited walk on with essentially no fanfare whatsoever. With the help of his coaches, he has built himself into a top 5 wrestler in his weight class and a team captain. He was a very good bet to AA last year if not for a severe elbow injury that he is still recovering from. He has wrestled in 3 different weight classes in his career and done everything his team and coaches have ever asked him to do. But aside from that, I guess he really hasn't accomplished much of anything. :twitcy:
If calling out a kid the quality of Andrew Soreson makes you feel better about yourself krieger, then maybe it's time for you to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself what YOU'VE accomplished. You must lead a sad, sad existence.

Been a college wrestler. Combined record of 65-26. Ranked as high as 5th before being injured last season. What has Mike Evans done? Wrestled unattached for one year.

Maybe krieger meant this as a poor word choice type thing on Sorenson's part. Maybe, "I will be beat him by more next time" or "I will beat him better next time" instead of "I will beat him worse next time". It's hard to beat someone worse (by less) than 1 point. Taking ratios into consideration, a 5/4 victory is worse than a 4/3 victory.
Maybe Krieger can offer some comments on the team point being deducted from Iowa for the awesome display of sportsmanship and class by the Iowa coaching staff. Always impressive to watch 3 times in which a Brands inbred or one of their assistants has to be restrained from charging at the officials on the mat. They also directed some of their hostility towards Kevin Jackson. Just once I would like to see one of those morons make a move at Jackson.... KJ would have tore them all apart. :yes:

I'm not sure if this is a joke post or not. You are taking issue with Sorenson saying something off the mat about it not being as close of a match next time, when Evans did that bush league push off the mat and after the whistle that cost Iowa a team point?
I sure hope Sorenson thinks he can tech fall him next time. Maybe take him down and beat the "Iowa Style" of bush league violence right out of him with a takedown clinic.

I'm still waiting for one of the Brands brothers to throw a punch at an opposing coach or official and end up in jail on assault. It's going to happen one of these days.
