Same here. The "Pandemonium in Piscataway" game is one of my favorite non-ISU games that I've ever watched (can't believe it was five years ago!). I tried to follow RU fairly closely for a couple years after that game (partly to distract myself from how awful we were under the Chiz). Always cheer for them when I happen to see them on TV.

Rutgers fan here! And yes the "Pandemonium in Piscataway" game was an amazing game for RU. Congrats on your season! Hope ISU gets a lot of fans to the bowl, the kids from both teams deserve a big crowd.

Douby was drafted by the Sac Kings and played in the NBA for a few years as a little used sub. I believe he was the MVP of the main league in China last year. He just doesn't have a NBA body.

Honestly, I enjoyed the big run Rutgers had that put them and Schiano on the map. I like the idea that we get a respectable opponent. This should be a decent game on the field, and a good time on the boards.

But why would you ever reference them in that way? Do you say "The Iowa States..."? Or did you just forget that their mascot is the Scarlet Knights?

Rutgers was named after Col Rutgers. Rutgers is not plural.

Just a point of contention, Rutgers is not plural (Rutgers' is, Rutger is just flat wrong), rather, The State University of New Jersey is named after this guy:Col. Henry Rutgers

So, you are not named after dutch actor Rutger Hauer?

We are probably more familar with your WBB team since we have played a couple of times and your coach used to coach the hated Hawkeyes. Have never met in football.

I was at the NIT game back in 04 playing in the ISU pep band. Some jerk Rutgers fans were trying to pick a fight with us AFTER they won. Sore winners I guess. My memory of Rutgers fans is not a pleasant one...

I am not a fan of opponents getting buddy-buddy before a game. The Iowa-South Carolina lovefest on HR is nauseating. I'd prefer if they insulted our university and fans. It's more fun that way. Bring it on, guidos.

I don't think most folks in the Midwest know that Rutgers is a state university, like Iowa State in that regard.
