Looks like it will be an at large possibility as BYU leads 31-13. Certainly couldn't complain about this one for an at large.

Hawaii Bowl is played on Christmas Eve,so that's one negative. One positive is that you would not be playing Hawaii on their home field if they don't qualify, playing Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl is not a bowl game,it's a road game.

Certainly would be a good experience for the players. But I'm not sure how many ISU fans would make the trip.

Would that give us enough practice time for our youngsters?:wideeyed::twitcy: Can we just move the team to hawaii about 18 Dec?

You're looking at $1500\ticket for these flights, more once the bowl is announced and tickets start getting bought.

that'd be so stupid, there'd probably only be like 3-4k cyclone fans there i bet its on christmas eve

Everyone thinks Hawaii is this glamorous destination, and for the most part it is. But Honolulu (which is most of Oahu) is a dump, which is where the game will be played. I won't turn nose up to the Hawaii Bowl, but it's near the end of the list on bowls I'd rather see ISU play.

Agreed. The Pinstripe Bowl is last on my list and Hawaii would probably be second to last. I'm hoping for a place that I have family I could stay with (Dallas, San Diego) and that my parents will take me as a birthday and Christmas gift.

Meh - I'd rather go to the Pinstripe Bowl before the Independence Bowl...

I was there when the wbb played there during Thanksgiving a few years ago. I sure as heck wouldn't call it a "dump".

You must have different standards than I do. Long Island, NY has better beaches than Waikiki. And the area of Honolulu just off Waikiki is dirty and run down. Not to mention tent city on the western part of the island. Sure, North Shore is nice, but if I ever go back to Hawaii it won't be to Honolulu ever again.

The only thing I know is that I've been to Shreveport twice and it's a straight up **** hole. I'd love Houston again so I can show my kids once more how people live under bridges. Give me Hawaii any day if we can't get a great game on the mainland.
