One Job Rhoads is interested in

Pretty creative way of answering a question... It always amazes me though, even coaches that aren't coaching deny interest until they actually have the job, why would a coach with a job say anything... I hope Paul stays at least one more year then goes to Florida to replace Muschamp, but I'm not convinced one bit that he will be the coach here five years down the line.

I'm pretty convinced he is here for a while.

At this point I'd rather shelve any other facility improvements and invest the money in to Rhoads and the staff. We need to keep this staff intact.

We cannot table facility improvements. The gap is too wide and would only get wider at this point. I'm glad we have Pollard running the numbers on all this.

I think facility improvements will do a lot to keep him here, but i'm pickin up what you're puttin down.

JP tried to do that last year and Rhoads told him to put the money toward facilities. Any more ideas? At this point, I don't think JP is making many decisions regarding the football program. You want to keep a coach, give him control. This situation is very similar to Rich Rodriguez at WVU. It's his alma mater, he wanted to coach there, but when the administration would not do simple things like facility improvements it drove him away. I don't think he would have ever left had he gotten some simple things. He was not asking for the world out of WVU.

Why the hell would you hope this?

Rhoads should just retire here and then become president.

KF has stayed at Iowa for the long haul and won't leave. It's paid off for him and his program. PR knows the importance of loyalty and being at home with family. I think he is at ISU for the next 10 years. We gotta do our part though and continue to invest in the program and that includes giving him a raise +extension after Saturday's win!

I think Rhoads might be our Ben Jacobson. He has seen how unkind it is at the bigger schools and knows that if he wins 6-7 games a year and has a good locker speach we will love him.

Two things need to be done to keep Rhoads at ISU:
1) Facillity Improvements
2) A raise for him AND his staff

If I'm JP, everytime I have a decent amount of money set aside, I go to CPR and give him the opportunity to take a raise. If he continues to want it to go to facility improvements, great. If he wants to take a pay raise, he's earned it and then some.

Wrong.

It has been reported that CPR turned down a pay raise last offseason and told JP to sink that $$$ into FACILITIES.

You don't just give the coach a pay raise - you give him WHAT HE WANTS. I have no problems with offering him another pay raise, but it is clear that having competitive facilities is what CPR really wants, so you keep feeding him that.
