With everybody saying that with Lucca coming back we will be so much better i wanna know what people think he will average? Remember nobody has actually seen him play at the D-1 level. I would say 7 to 9 points a game

I think it would be in the 8-10 pt. range, but he would add a lot in terms of passing, and defense, since he is a bigger guard.

Agree. I don't know what he would average, but I like his frame. Our guards now are so thin, they just have a hard time defending or playing physical.

I would rep your Bill Brasky comment but Im out.

But in all seriousness he is our best guard (if you dont consider Wes a guard)

Diante can handle the rock, but it is kind of hard when you have to do it all yourself.

I don't think Lucca wouldn't be a consistent scorer. If we're in need of 3's... he could put up 20 plus in a game. If we're scoring comfortably down low... he could put up 6 and be more of a defender and distributer. It just seems like he's so versatile that he can do whatever it is that needs to be done (all hearsay of course as I've never seen him play... just going off what people have said about him in cap city and practices)

We need him as a ballhandler and a perimeter defender more than anything (same with Johnson)...but he would also be our best shooter.

Good god...I pray he doesn't come back and lay an egg since everyone thinks he is the 2nd coming without seeing him play in a REAL game. As I said in another thread, Haluska tore up Cap City and we all see how that is translating to real games.

I would expect Lucca to be a solid contributor (10-25 min/game), but by no means an all Big 12 caliber player.

He won't be an all big 12 player as a freshman and nobody is saying he will be...he will be our best shooter, another ballhandler we desperately need, and a step up defensively from Haluska or Boozer...McDermott has said he will bring us something we don't have...a big physical guard that can bang with K-State and Missouri's physical guards, and shoot the 3 on a consistant basis.

He averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Decatur Christian High School in Illinois last year.

I wonder how many D1 athletes did that school have that year? 13 points might be impressive when you consider he might not get the ball a lot.

People also can't argue with the fact that he has played on some pretty good teams in his life compared to sean Haluska and sean is a Junior. We need Lucca playing some this year so next year he stellar.

Lucca - Severe Upgrade 12 points, 5 boards, 5 assists. You kidding me, after you watched the first four games that he will super improve the Motley Crew? He is just what the doctor ordered.

not enough to please the shiny objects magic beans crowd

He i belive will do a lot of the little things that helps a team tremendously, like Hoiberg did. 10 pts 2-3 3's a game, play in control keep his bearing, crisp passing, a big steady gaurd that hopefully wont make bonehead mistakes would be great.
