Iowa State has never had a winless season in wrestling. I think they will have one this year.

Since you posted the same stupid **** on CR, I will paraphrase the answer you got there...

Nice 9th post. You need to educate yourself with wrestling, and then educate yourself with ISU wrestling rather than reading the final scores and then posting.

I hope UNI also.

We are not that far away from beating Oklahoma. We get another chance and I hope we are healthy 2nd go around.
125 - turns to a decision instead of major
133 - same
141 - same
149 - goes to major
157 - I think Moreno wins this match next time, needs more time from injury
165 - same
174 - Spangler should be able to major this guy (7-0 1st period), think injury return time hurt
184 - same
197 - same or Shafer might beat him
Hwt - same

Depending on 197, that's 17-17 tie or 20-14 Iowa State win

You don't just come back on the mat at 100%, Moreno and Spangler will both improve if they can stay injury free.

I agree - this last matchup with Oklahoma was actually closer than I expected, and gave me hope that we might get them next time around.

Also Sorenson and Gibson were very close to having pins and I'm not going to give any credit for the defensive pins at 149 and another lower weight that some fans thought we should of had.

I do not claim to know a lot about wrestling, but do enjoy watching it when I can. I just wonder if Cael Sanderson looks at how bad we are right now and feels bad for leaving us in such a disasterous position as a program. Iowa State gave him so much, and he royally screwed us over. Someone correct me if I am totally off my rocker.

I am sure Cael feels bad for how poor Iowa State is doing this year. Trent W, Andrew S, C. Spangler, B Beard, J Ward, C Shafer, and K Simonson were coached and/or recruited by Cael and I'm sure the wrestlers like Cael and vice versus.

I am glad that you posted these wrestlers names. I am tired of hearing only about KJs guys! Isn't the whole TEAM KJ's? He keeps stating wait until my guys take the mat, etc etc etc. That to me is not team building. These are your work horses along with the new guys. All for one and one for all, remember?

He did have three national champs out of Cael's recruits, two of them probably owe the major part of their championships to KJ, and the other had his only undefeated season under KJ. I think he has done just fine supporting those already in the program before he got there.

I think the biggest problems are the essential loss of a recruiting class when Cael left, and a weakness in bringing along the lighter weights.

Right . . he is really grieving at Penn State. Give me a break.

Cael felt so bad about it that he took all the kids that ISU had paid him to recruit with him to Penn State and tried to bring current wrestlers with him as well. ISU just refused to release anyone other than his brother. Cael cleaned out Iowa State's pantry on his way out.

Nobody should forget the the extra points from Cyler likely would have given us the championship in 2009 even with Gallick out.

It may not be greiving at Iowa State per se, but he knows these older guys personally and leaving the school does not change the relationships with these guys he recruited and coached. I know Kyle Simonson has talked to Cael several times since he left.

I also think its time for us to rally around the policy of not letting people create a thread without an established account. 25 posts, or 1 month account, something.

If David Taylor would have stayed at ISU, Penn State would not have won the Big Ten or NCAA tournament.
