The reality is that money talks. While I fully expect CPR to stay here for many years, there are no guarantees. After Cael left, I'll never be surprised by a coaching change again.
If CPR was looking to leave, I would guess he would wait for a better opportunity than Illinois.
I'd like to ask the same thing, but I'd tone it down a bit so it does not come off as mean and condescending.I'd like to ask the idiots who throw Rhoads' name out for every job opening: why would a guy who is about to go to his 2nd bowl game in 3 years, knocked off the #2 team in the nation and is playing one of the toughest schedules would leave that situation to try and do it all over again at some other school that probably isn't as committed to football as ISU is at this point (Illinois couldn't care less about football). It's one thing to mention his name with openings that are a step up, or openings that aren't a complete mess, but throwing his name out for every piddly job opening is just stupid. Most of the Illinois media is a bunch of arrogant ****** who are oblivious to sports outside of Chicago and the big 10+1+1 anyway, but it's still annoying.
Probably just wishful thinking by sleazy Hawkeye fansSomeone at work told me that this morning the heard some radio heads were talking about Rhoads to Illinois. Don't know if they were just talking or had some sort of actual info. Was just wondering if anyone heard this or has any info?
