Bowl Situation Thread

If the Big 10 gets 2 BCS Bowl teams over the Big 12, I'll puke. The Big 10 is a complete joke of a conference this year in football.

MSU and Wisky are the only decent teams in that entire conference. Michigan is a joke.

Get ready to puke...without a 2nd BCS team you can probably kiss the Holiday Bowl game goodbye as well

Like the ticket city bowl, don't love it...have to take the day off and not a
fan of an ESPNU bowlgame
Yeah I hate that it's on ESPNU. Otherwise it would be a good bowl for us.

CUSA isn't going to fill their spots. That bowl has a secondary agreement w/ the MAC but who knows. Bowls seem to do whatever they want after their initial match up isn't available.

If they are locked in to the MAC in a secondary agreement then they will have to drop the price of tickets even more.

IMO, ISU is one of the more desirable at large teams and could very well get a bowl with a Big 12 tie in. Mizzou does not travel well.

This is just it. We know ISU is more desirable than Mizzou and ISU may be more desirable than some other school we don't know about yet, which at worst puts us in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Better get a bucket, then. You could substitute "MSU" and "Wisky" for ""OKSt." and "OU" and substitute "K-State" for "Michigan" and your entire post would be equally accurate.

Scout Projections

BCS Fiesta - Okie Lite
Cotton - Kansas State
Alamo - OU
Insight - Baylor
Holiday - Mizzou
Car Care - Texas
Pinstripe - Texas A&M
TicketCity - ISU

No way does Mizzou go that high. Holiday would be stupid to take Mizzou instead of Texas in that case.

Maybe, just maybe, ISU can get the Car Care bowl. A&M has had a disappointing season while ISU has had an exciting one. Sure we're not just down the road, but we travel and the Big 12 would like to screw A&M.

Okay both A&M and Missouri are leaving.. A&M is 6-6 which is a disappointment for them considering the expectations and Missouri is 7-5.. we all know what happened last time with that, so wouldn't you think we'd get picked over both of these teams? Wouldn't these bowls probably want to make the conference happy and pick teams that will be in the Big 12 next year over teams that won't?

You are forgetting Baylor. We NEED Texas to beat Baylor next week so the Alamo takes Texas. That gives ISU a fighting chance for the Holiday against Baylor, Mizzou, & A&M. An ISU victory over KSU puts us in I hope. An ISU loss and it is anyone's guess.

That will happen with Mizzou. A&M I'm not so sure as they will need to be in a Texas Bowl. That could be the Car Care or Ticket City, but they are more likely for the Car Care since it is right down the road from them.

I'm hoping Texas beats Baylor and we beat KSU for the following to happen:

BCS - OSU
Cotton - OU (or KSU)
Alamo - Texas
Insight - KSU (or OU)
Holiday - ISU
Texas - A&M (or Baylor)
Pinstripe - Mizzou
Ticket City - Baylor (or A&M)

If Texas loses to Baylor, I can't see the Alamo passing on a 9-3 Baylor team. That game is in Texas so they'd pretty much have to take Baylor over Texas. The problem that creates is now we have to go head to head with Texas for the Holiday and we won't win that matchup and likely end up in the Ticket City at that point (could be Pinstripe, but I think Mizzou is locked in there).

Bottom line, root for Texas over Baylor and ISU over KSU.

+1. Go Horns!

I love the idea of the Ticket City Bowl. I liked the bowl game when it was originally called the Dallas Football Classic. I understand a bowl game needs sponsorship, but I wish they would have kept DFC in the name. "Dallas Football Classic brought to you by Ticket City."

I'm not convinced that Michigan will get to #14.

I think Mich will actually fall in the BCS tonight to number #16. Beating a 6-6 Ohio St team is not going to help them. And Wisconsin will probably jump them since they beat a ranked PSU team. Last week their BCS averages were: #15 Mich .3980 and #16 Wisc .3939. #11 K ST, #12 South Carolina, #13 Georgia, and #14 Mich St are not going to fall in rankings today below Michigan or Wisky. The only team that lost in front of Michigan this weekend was #3 Arkansas, and they wont drop but maybe 5 spots.

Mich has to hope they jump the Mich St vs. Wisc loser. And hope KSU or Georgia lose then jump them. But KSU is .5896 and Georgia is .5189. Can Mich at .3980 make that jump when they don't even play anymore?

Totally agree. The thing I hate the most about these new bowls is their name. Hell, even the older bowls have sold out to change their name. The Citrus Bowl is now the Capital One Bowl. The Peach Bowl is the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. Seriously? Even if they called it the Moon Bowl presented by TicketCity, it'd be a lot cooler.

If they just kept a normally name, I'd take them a lot more seriously. Screw it, I'm calling it the Dallas Classic from now on.

If OU can win I think there is a good chance the Big12 will get two BCS bids. Looking at Michigan's BCS numbers, it will be close if they make top 14.

You'd be surprised at what some politicking can do to the human polls to get Michigan to #14. 99% chance IMO.
