I am trying to convince some family members (husker fans) that NU was closer to the bottom of the big 12 and that they are certainly last in the big 10. Also, I am trying to make them realize that ISU is definitely the better academic school between the two. Does anyone have some solid evidence to back me up? Please don't bother with the US news rankings because those are garbage and not respected anyway.

NU got kicked out of the AAU. That should be all the evidence anyone would ever need that the N really does stand for Nowledge.

There is no such thing as convincing Husker fans of anything. Just show them Cooter Ray and tell them that is how they are looked upon by the rest of the country.
As a proud graduate with a degree in Architecture from the ISU College of Design, our design programs are always highly rated nationally by Design Intelligence. I would have never thought to go to UNL for this sort of professional degree...never.

ISU is ranked 91 in the 2011 world university rankings. Nebraska isn't even in the top 200. ISU is also ranked in the top 200 of the top 400 world universities here. Nebraska is unranked again.
Boy after reading this thread and the information provided, I gotta say that Nebraska REALLY sucks even more than I thought.
Awesome. We're ranked higher than that sucky university in Iowa City AND Notre Dame! Who'd have guessed Notre Dame?
