I hope these two things don't get him in trouble:
1- Doesn't see value in playing D. I hope that is not the case, but I'm starting to think there's a chance of this.
2- He's too calm/nice to "motivate" kids to hustle defensively and rebounding the ball. I pray that isn't the case.
That laid back style is probably much more common in the NBA and can work there because the players are all professional, older and more mature. With 18-20 y/o's it might not be as effective.
Some truth to that I think. You don't get in the face of Michael Jordan if you're an NBA coach... or you get yourself fired.
But Fred needs to get on these guys. At least in timeouts or something. Quit coddling them like children or something. They play with no hustle, desire, or passion whatsoever. Just sit back there and launch 3's all night. How lazy is that?
I think we were picked to finish 9th in the Big 12 for a reason.
Thank God we don't play Creighton. They'd light us up big time.
