How many times did the Hawks beat any top 2 team?

Anyone know? My intention is not to diss the Hawks. I was just curious.

They beat Michigan in 1985, when Iowa was ranked #1 and Michigan was ranked #2.

How many times have the Cyclones been ranked #1?

My intention is not to diss the Cyclones. I was just curious.

Is that the same 1985 that just about every current NCAA player other than Brandon Weeden was born after?

Difference between the OP's question and your question is quite obvious: The OP didn't know the answer to his before posting.

Just more typical tavernhawk bullflop that ensures the fact that if i ever get diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor, i will not be going alone.

lol. This is like starting a sentence with "no offense but..."

You just know that the end of the sentence is going to offend you.

Does that mean it didn't happen?

I'm not sure about times they've beat the #2 team, but they still have beat some top teams in the country.

2008: They beat #3 Penn State
2009: They beat #5 Penn State @ Penn State, and #9 Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl.
2010: They beat #5 Michigan State, and #14 Missouri in the Insight Bowl.

Oh, and they finished 2009 ranked #7 in the country. I'm not taking anything away from ISU's win, it was a huge one. But if the OP was "just curious" like he said, a simple google search could've taken care of that.

It's supposed to soften the blow and make it okay for you to say anything you want. Just like in Talladega Nights with Ricky Bobby saying "With all due respect...." to his boss.
