Not sure how this will work out. Obviously he can't play everyday, but strictly a pinch hitter? Can get by on less than 1 AB/game for the season and still be effective?

As streaky as he is, I don't know how well he'll be able to battle out of slumps if his timing is off.

I think he would've been way better off getting a couple starts here and there for an AL team.

Yeah, I suppose it does. Still, if he only gets around 120ABs and hits .170...I don't know, I guess he is just after the ring at this point.

Guess I just figured he'd go with the best AL chance to give himself a little wiggle room in trying to be effective.

But maybe he'll thrive, I don't know. Streaky guys like him are going to either look totally washed up or completely other-world with that small of a sample size.

Don't know how this is going to work out but I could not be happier. It rights an old wrong of the Phillies trading Thome. Yeah, I know it made way for Ryan Howard but I was very disappointed when the trade was made.
