JAMES VANDENBERG AND JAMES HURT WILL PLAY SATURDAY AT 12:30 FOR THE 3A TITLE. tHESE 2 ARE D1 MATERIAL THE FIRST AS A ROSENFELS TYPE QB THE SECOND IS SAFETY OR WR

all those caps make me nervous.....

in all seriousness, great! D-I "material" in the 3-A title game... I like to see it. However, are they the type of players ISU needs to get to the next level or they guys who'll play the scout team for 4 years? Don't get me wrong, I love to see unheralded small town Iowa kids make it big in the D-I ranks, esp. at ISU.. but we all know ISU needs bad @$$ D-lineman with ridiculous speed, and massive, fast, and agile O-linemen, oh, and a kicker would be nice. I think ISU is set at QB for awhile.

I think James Morris from Solon is D1 material as well. He's 6'1" 200 lb sophomore who's fast and not shy about contact. Would think he could play safety at the next level. Only catch is his step father is an equipment manager for the Hawks.

Just because kids attend a small school doesn't mean they aren't talented. Yes 4a will have more but I think the smaller division athletes sometimes get overlooked.

Hey guys, let's settle down - I'm from a small town and I turned out fine, I even have all my teeth and can read just fine:)

At least we know they're really not related.

What's your definition of a small town? Can you say that you had classes at ISU that were bigger than the population of your town? I can.:cute:

One of the towns I lived in had 199 people, we also lived on a farm and my high school was in Ogden with a total of around 40 kids per grade.

It seems like half of those classes say that. I remember when I was a freshman and I think it was Psych 101 and the prof asked that question of "Is this class bigger then your home town?" and I think most in the class raised their hand. Almost made me feel like I was from a big city having a home town of 10,000.

Dan Hoch is from 3a but according to some that is just a little too small townish. Sage came from maqueketa. If you can play you can play.

There were more kids in my Calc and Physics classes at ISU than I had in my whole high school. I wasn't making fun of Keokuk because it's small. I'm from and smaller town in that area and was just poking fun of Keokuk in general.
