Collin Bevins Offered by Iowa

Just heard that the Hawks have offered ISU commit Bevins - as a TE/OL. CPR plans to start him on the DL. This is the 2nd in-state Clone commit that has later received an Iowa offer.
 
Those guys must be getting desperate. Not that Bevins doesn't have potential, but iowa knew about him when he got the ISU offer and committed. Seems strange to offer now after he's been committed to ISU for couple months.

Bevins wasn't good enough for Iowa until it missed on some other guys. Now it is. Hopefully the kid is smart enough to know that and has too much pride to be somebody's sloppy seconds.
 
He is an ISU fan, so I'm sure that helps. Plus, CPR hasn't lost one yet (committed) to the dark side. Hopefully, we'll hear something soon from him saying that he's fully committed to ISU.
 
Makes you think Iowa has missed on other players. Probably depends to some degree which side of the ball he wants to play in college.

They're not desperate for OL recruits at the moment as they've told the kid from Texas who wants to committ to wait.

They could be desperate for DL recruits though I suppose.

The more likely scenario is that Iowa requested senior film from him and offered a scholarship based on that.

I agree with this. They're not desperate for OL recruits, they've already got their 4 star and another 3 star committed on the OL. Plus, they've got the three star OL from Texas that Clark alluded to who wants to commit, but they told him to wait, and they have another 4 star OL who visited two weeks ago and was very high on Iowa after that visit.

The staff said they are recruiting him as a TE/OL, and I don't think it has anything to do with him being a fall-back option. From all that I've heard, Bevins is having a solid senior year, and once Iowa looked at his senior film, they decided to give it a shot and offer.

Not saying Iowa will have a good shot at landing him, since he grew up a Cyclone fan. I think he's going to be a good one, and if Iowa can't sway him, then the Cyclones grabbed a good one there.

This. Why would Iowa be desperate? They were probably just waiting until they saw him play actual football his senior year.

Well, for a staff that supposedly excells in evaluating players, they just offered their second recruit that was already committed to ISU. What's next? Rogers and Seeley? Quan West? Patrick Harris? Maybe KF thinks he might be able to sway Luke Knott if he throws him an offer.

Actually I heard that they are just about to offer Ja'Quarius Daniels...
 
I'm hearing Iowa is high on a JUCO QB from California that is an ISU commit as well. Steel Jans or something. Hawks will offer soon
