Maryland 0 Temple 31

They were voted 32nd in the AP poll, two spots behind Iowa State. They certainly won't be leapfrogging us this week!:twitcy:

They also took Penn State to the wire here in Philly last week, but everyone interpreted that as a sign of Penn State's weakness.

Maryland beat Miami this year and only lost to WVU by 6, but they are getting straight up embarassed by a (very good, but nonetheless) MAC team. With the recent realignment talk I was thinking Maryland is another program that we compare favorably to.

Speaking of realignment, maybe Temple is ready for the big time? They have a solid basketball tradition, comparable student population, a football program on the rise (which is apparently surviving Al Golden's departure to Miami), instant access to a couple big stadiums in Philly, and a huge local television market. That said, I guess Philly is too far away for the Big12, but a guy can drea.

They apparently didn't get the memo that new / alternate uniforms make you play better.

Temple is a solid MAC team, them beating Maryland isn't that big of a shock but them absoluetely dominating them is an embarrassment to the ACC.

They're probably better off becoming a big fish in a small pond. There are reasons why they essentially were kicked out of the Big East.
