Oklahoma is supposed to be in love with playing with schools like Stanford, UCLA, USC. Get to recruit California and likes the stature of being associated with those schools. The LHN is dumb, nobody out of Texas gives a ****. Just make it the Big 12 network, that way you have enough programming and will get Mediacom, Comcast, DTV, Dish etc.

Hope their fans like night road games starting at 9 or 10pm.

I just don't get why anyone in the midwest would think scheduling 2 hours outside your timezone is a good idea.

Pretty sure us ISU fans wouldn't be complaining too loudly if the Big 12 collapsed and OU took us out west with them. Not saying that's what's going to happen, just saying watching games that start at 9:00 pm is a hell of a lot more ideal than playing 11:00 games in CUSA...

Completely agree!

How are they going to do a 14-team league in Pac 16?
Will Texas stay in Big 12 and try to invite all of Big East making it a 16 team conference?
(7 Big 12 + 9 Big East - move TCU to west division)

This would be the best scenario if you ask me. Keep our closest rivals, collect exit fees from two more schools, lose two of the top football programs, making it easier for us to win a championship. Plus, takes two conferences and hits the 16-team league first. Still don't think the 16-team format works, but if others are going to do it, let's be one of them. Then if it falls apart, hopefully our program is stronger than today and we end up in a viable 8-10 team conference.

I found this to be a pretty good read. Scroll about halfway down to the heading "It all begins to fall apart..." It has a bit of Texas bias, but it brings up some good facts while ACTUALLY citing sources about this reallignment bs (something most "journalists" seem to have forgotten about).

A UT group including its president and two ADs flew to Norman on Sunday for last-ditch effort to try to keep OU in the Big 12.

While I don't doubt that oklahoma is looking at pac 12, I don't think they are ready to move this quickly. Could be texas trying to put a wedge between ok and three other schools. When this comes from a legit oklahoma source then worry. Not from the texas mouth piece.

God I hope they grovel and offer up the LHN as the B12 to keep the satus good. :wideeyed:

IMO, I wouldn't want to go to the Pac-1x. Logistic nightmare. C-USA is not even an option as ISU would never settle for it. ISU would be in the Big East at minimum and the value of the Big East package would increase dramatically because of the vacuum created by a Big 12 Collapse.

ISU, and others just need to hold the line and sue the hell out of OU and OSU and aTm and Texas or anyone else who leaves the conference. Each of those schools paying $3 million or more to every conference team they left for 10 to 15 years. ISU would get $12 million or so annually from those 4 schools. A Commitment and agreement was made last April. It needs to be honored.

And it is pretty ridiculous that OU would be claiming that the instability of the Big 12 is their reason for leaving. The announcement by OU that they were considering leaving is what caused the new round of instability. Otherwise it was a foregone conclusion that the Big 12 was considering adding 1 to 3 teams. Interesting also that teams like OU, aTm, and Nebraska cite the revenue differences as a factor and say they are now want to be in conferences that share revenue equally. But those same schools were the ones that continually voted for unequal revenue sharing. Amazing now that they come to the conclusion that equal revenue sharing is now good when they have constantly opposed it before.

I think the ability to control third tier rights is a draw.

Wrong, this is only a draw for about 15 -20 schools in the country. Each school in the Big 12 could get $5 million/annually at least for a conference network as opposed to $15 Million for Texas and maybe a total of $10 million for the other schools combined? Which would make for a happier more stable conference?

This should be an absolute "must read" for anyone that wants to continue laying 100% of the blame over the instability and potential destruction of the Big 12 at Texas' feet. Nobody is saying that Texas doesn't share some blame - they do. But it goes to show that Nebraska and A$M have been outright hypocrites in this whole process and have by and large gotten away with scapegoatting Texas.

Rumor floating is Boren asked Big XII to expell Baylor , for breaking a verbal agreement note to sue A&M between the presidents & OU would remain in the league Ken Starr told Boren to go "**** Himself"

If OU ends up following through with their app to the PAC 12 which is looking more and more likely, I will hold them in the same contempt as ATM with all this.
