Sounds like coach is saving a few guys by not practicing them too hard. Most of them appear to be leaders and older guys on the D. I think one of the most interesting things he said was they have picked up the pace of the offense. At the very end of the video he goes into a bit more detail but basically says, less changing calls at the line(Less looking at the sideline for a change) and just playing football and getting the play going sooner. Speaking of sooner, he compared the tempo to that of the Sooners. I like this change as looking at the side line isn't one of the things I have liked...seems to slow the game down to me when at the games. Maybe watching it on tv it isn't as noticeable.

Our offense has always been 10 times more successful without looking to the sidelines. There are countless examples, but the Insight Bowl was ridiculous. ISU is ramming it down Minnesota's throat and suddenly ISU stops and starts looking to the sideline. Next thing you know, the offense is stuck in the mud.

A much needed change IMO.

FWIW, in the scrimmage photos from today, Steele was playing with the one's in every pic of him. Not so for Barnett and Tiller from what I could tell? Someone might be able to prove me wrong, but I believe that's what the pics show.

I don't think anyone is going to be able to prove you wrong. Looks correct to me.

Yay...he appears to be growing his beard again.

The QB's rep with all three groups. CPR said it himself in his post-scrimmage interview. So, what you may interpret from these pics could be misleading in your thought process. I wasn't at today's scrimmage but I was there last saturday. I can tell you that Jantz and Barnett alternated with the 1's and 2's. Tiller repped some with the 1's and 3's. The only thing that I can take from that is CPR is fairly trying to work the guys with all groups to get a sense of their ability, leadership, etc. If Tiller always works with the 1's, or Barnett always worked with the 3's, or Jantz with the 2's, how do you fairly judge them.

That is my observation as well, expect it to be that way when the announcement is made on Saturday.

Because I am certain the coaches have a favorite.

At first, I thought you were talking about CW
Is CW sportin a Stache????
This is the most important part of the video!!! How could everyone else have missed this?
Definitely picked up on it and was glad I read through the thread before posting something about it. Whats the matter Chris, gotta wake up too early to shave for those long drives to Ames?!?

You may be right. But wouldn't it be obvious? Since the coaches have a favorite, why don't CPR go ahead and spill the beans. No need to wait until 8/20. 3 more practices can't change things that much....right? I'm sure that JB's and JT's disappointment from not being named the starter will be the same today as it would be on Saturday or Sunday. They probably would be a little happier that they didn't have to push so hard over the next few days....especially since they won't play this year. CPR did say that the "he fully expects the starter to be the guy all season". And we know very well that his word is trustworthy.
