Car Help-Broken Taillight

Someone backed into my car the other day, and broke the right tail light cover on my 1995 Buick Lesabre. The cheapest cover I can find is for $100. Does anyone know of a way to get just the outer plastic cheaper?

There's only one (functional) in our area, and they don't have any. Online searches and our local auto parts store are all $100-$120.

Can you just cover it with that opaque red tape? They sell it at Walmart.
