Mitchell Meyers Commitment

Looks like I was right and Bobby just said it. Took me all of 2 minutes of watching the video to see he would be a defensive tackle. Uses great leverage

Aren't you hot ****? :twitcy:

Start feeding him some Iowa cornfed beef with a side of mashed potatoes and -- you guessed it -- corn!

He's got a great frame and some weight on him already, but he's going to need more to play DT and be effective. That's where our coaches and nutritionists come in.

Very excited!

So does that make 5 commits so far?

Last year, at this time, we had 2.

This looks like a fantastic get...you've got a guy here with the type of measurables to possibly play DE yet the height and size to pack on the muscle and turn into a beast of a DT. Man, this program is headed places..I wish I could just fast forward a couple years just to see what this staff does with guys like this.

A little concerned with the lack of BCS offers, otherwise looks like a good get for us. Give him some time to get his body where it needs to be and should develop into a solid player up front.

This topic has been covered extensively, but until CPR brings in guys that can't play I will trust him/his staff.

I would love to have all the four and five stars in the world but there is upside to guys who didn't make that cut.I believe that some guys who are not high on the nation work harder because they do not all have the god given talent that a 4 or 5 star may have. They also probably aren't hung up on themselves with offers from national title teams.

Sure ISU can go those places but we need hardworking all in guys to get us there, and I think that is what CPR is bringing in.

A good get, but I am still going to hold my breath a little. This is early, and odds are that since Rhoads scouted him out, Tommy Tuberville will come sprinting in with an offer and some snake oil

So, we're way ahead of everyone else in putting offers out there?

Not necessarily. There are a ton of recruits out there. Camps are still going on. Perhaps we just got to this one first. I'm sure Texas Tech, Kansas, K-State, etc. are going after guys that we haven't seen/offered yet.

That is not to say that he is a guarantee diamond in the rough. Our coaching staff sees something they like in him. I really doubt they give a crap about whether or not other power conference programs have offered him.
