Has anyone heard anything about this? Apparently Iowa offered him on May 29th.

In the recruiting process, Dowling Catholic wide receiver Amara Darboh had been the only known in-stater to have landed a scholarship offer from Coach Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes. It appears as if their staff have stepped up with another top rated in-stater. See who it is now! [details]

Yeah, it happened. Big deal.

I think Iowa got in this too late. Stranger things have happened before but, I think he stays committed to the good guys.

Do we typically offer kids who have verballed elsewhere?
Every school does. In the SEC it gets busy, in the north I thinks its more of a feeler. They offer and see if the kid takes to it. If he still wants to be recruited then you are gonna recruit him, but if he says "no, i'm committed to ____" you leave them alone. Hopefully Barkley did the latter.

when he commited to us hawk fans said he wasnt bcs caliber... now their boy kirk offers the kid. barkley is a good get fun us. stick with the cyclones!!

He told them he's a Cyclone unless something bad were to happen or something like that. I Not goin to worry about this one.

You know, I don't really want to say I have a problem with the offer, but I sort of do. I mean, this kid is in the state, I think he's been to their camp, he's been fairly high profile, he lives on the east side of the state, and you wait until he commits to ISU to offer him. I guess I don't really have a problem with it from my seat bu if I were Barkley Hill I would tell them they could go fly a kite. It's not like this was some under the radar kid from Western Illinois that committed to ISU. He's right in their back door. Again, I don't really care but if I were the recruit, I would be a little put off.

This just goes to show you how good of an eye for talent that Rhoads has. He's in on these guys before others even notice them.

I just hope Barkley Hill does the right thing and tells the Hawks to take a flying leap. Hey Barkley, the Hawks didn't like you until Rhoads landed you. How does that make you feel?

What took iowa so long... Must not have been as important to them as to CPR. I'm sure iowa can just go grab a rb from out of state, probably one whose hs coach used to work with kf back in tha day.

Oh so you do have a problem with it.:twitcy::twitcy:

Seriously though I agree, I wonder if they were thinking he would walkon for them and they wouldnt have to burn a schoolly, cause ya know EIU is the only school in iowa? :goofy: What other explanation would there be. CPR defiantly has that talent eye that IaState has been missing.
